Setting of Hit Movie Being Filmed in Atlanta Plagued by Burglars
On December 27, burglars in the Atlanta area reportedly broke into a warehouse where the movie sequel “Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues” was being filmed and walked away with approximately $300,000 in wiring that was removed from the building.
Online news sources revealed that the warehouse robbery isn’t a first for the Defoors Ferry Road neighborhood. In fact, over the last few weeks, thieves have been robbing residences in the area as well. One household reported that their home had been broken into and a portable computer was taken.
Shortly after the police report was filed, the public got word that it wasn’t just wires that were stolen. Four computers also went missing. The Atlanta Journal Constitution reported that the crooks gained access to the warehouse through the garage door. They then allegedly used a crank to remove the wires from the walls.
Almost two weeks after the burglary at the “Anchorman 2” set occurred, another break-in at a warehouse on the same lot was reported. A tool box and power saw were reportedly stolen during the incident.
Law enforcement officials in the area have offered a $5,000 reward to the person that can provide them with information leading to the arrest of the suspects.
These break-ins highlight the importance of ensuring that companies do all that they can to secure their building and the surrounding area.
