Young Girl Injured During Suspected Attempted Robbery in Atlanta Neighborhood

Georgia police are still looking for the suspect who shot a girl with a pellet gun during a possible attempted robbery that occurred on Tuesday, November 28. According to sources such as local news station WSBTV 2, the burglary took place late at a home in the northwest section of the city.

The man who lived in the apartment where the young victim was injured told law enforcement officials that he was walking toward his place on Amal Drive when a male in a mask with a shotgun came up to him on the street.

The alleged burglar reportedly ordered that the man who he confronted “give it up,” but instead of listening to his demand, the apartment owner ran into his residence. The gunman unloaded his firearm and the pellets penetrated the door and hit a 10-year-old girl who was inside.

As she lay on the couch, the rubber bullets struck her lower body. She was taken to the hospital and is expected to make a full recovery. Although there were two other kids in the apartment and their mom, they were not hurt.

Unfortunately, because the suspect was hiding his face, the man he approached was unable to provide authorities with a physical description.

The 10-year-old and her family are residing in a safe location until police have the accused burglar in custody.
