Couple Shot During Attempted Robbery

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported that a southwest Atlanta husband and wife were shot during an attempted robbery in the early morning hours of Wednesday, April 17, when they observed someone trying to steal their SUV in front of their Dawson Lane home. The husband confronted the robbers with a gun, while the wife threw a baseball bat at them.

“The victims came outside to confront some suspects who were stealing their vehicle,” Atlanta police Capt. Tim Peek told the source. “At some point, gunfire was exchanged with the victims and the suspects all shooting.”

Peek said the husband was shot twice in the back and the wife was hit in once in the leg. The burglars were not successful in stealing the vehicle, which had one of its windows shattered.

The couple were taken to a local hospital, and their condition was described as “stable”.
